Architectural Digest: Nate Berkus on 2017 Trends and Resolutions

The famous designer recently released a new collection of home good items in collaboration with Target.

Winter is just getting underway in the majority of the country. But that doesn’t mean that it’s too early to start thinking ahead to spring cleaning. At least not for Nate Berkus, the well-known designer.

In a recent interview with Architectural Digest, Berkus explains that the inspiration behind is latest home goods collection for Target is his open-air, Southern California home. That means that the majority of pieces in the design can be used both in and outside the home. But that doesn’t mean that Berkus’ collection is strictly trendy—in fact, he doesn’t subscribe to traditional trends or resolutions for the new year.

Berkus told Architectural Digest, “My philosophy has always been if you love something find a way to live with it. But are there certain design rules? Of course. Rules about scale will always matter. And color. But at the end of the day, your home should make you happy. That's always the first place to start.
