The Washington Post: Celebrities are Flocking to Washington, D.C.

The Obamas, Ivanka Trump and Jeff Bezos are all moving in to Washington, D.C.’s Kalorama neighborhood.

When it comes to celebrity hot spots, cities like New York and Los Angeles traditionally top the list. But this year, there’s another place that’s bringing in well-known celebrities: Washington, D.C.

The Obamas, Ivanka Trump and billionaire Jeff Bezos are all moving in to one of the District’s most expensive and exclusive neighborhoods, Kalorama. The area is no stranger to the elite—politicians have long made Kalorama their home. However, it’s rare that three of the world’s most powerful and recognized names decide to move in at the same time.

Homes don’t come cheap in Kalorama. Bezos, Amazon’s founder, paid $23 million in cash for a 10-bedroom mansion. Trump and her family, on the other hand, are moving into a six-bedroom mansion that was listed last year for $5.5 million.
